When staying home is not an option and you have to travel, you need to know how to protect yourself from any possible sickness. Even before the Coronavirus appear, travel makes you more vulnerable to sickness because you are exposed to new range of bacteria, parasites, etc. Travelling safely is a must because your well-being is your priority. Here are several tips for travelers to stay safe on the road.

Bring Tissue Paper or Wet Wipes

Should you become a hygiene freak during travel to avoid getting sick? There are so many nasty places and objects you can find during a trip. Even a table tray in your plane is a place full of germs. The airplane crew has limited time to clean the it before the next passengers get in. Thus, it is better to not eat off the table. You can use wet wipes to clean the table before use. However, it is more efficient to put sheets of paper so your items won’t get in direct contact with the surface of the table. Do not place your foods directly on the table.

For caution, you can wear a mask even if it’s not necessary protect you from Coronavirus. Remember that this virus is nor airborne. It spreads trough body fluids transfer. Many health experts say that wearing a mask doesn’t guarantee you from getting sick because the air can still seep through. However, it is better to wear a mask especially when you travel to a place when a lot of illness have been reported. You can wear surgical mask and make sure to wear it properly to serve its purpose. 

Boost Up Your Immune System

Make sure to have your immune system in check. The healthier your immune system is, the lower the chance of you getting sick. There are many ways in which you can improve your immune system such as exercise regularly, get your rest properly, and eat nutritious foods. Regular exercise is good to maintain your fitness. So even if you get sick, you will be quicker to get back up. Sickness is also often caused by the lack of rest. Thus, make sure to have enough sleep at least 6-8 hours a night. Avoid or limit junk foods consumption and be more cautious of street foods. 

Don’t Bring Kids

it is recommended to not bring kids or elderly for travelling especially during this Coronavirus outbreak. Kids have not developed their immune system well and elderly tends to have weaker immune system which make them more vulnerable to get sick. The risk is higher when they are on a trip. It is better to stay at home for them especially if the travel is not necessary for them.
