Hammock Camping Accessories for Dummies

Hammock camping accessories are the next setup you’d want to think about after you’ve settled with your hammock. Regardless if you’re a beginner who had just started hammock camping, some accessories you simply cannot do without.

Hammock camping accessories: tarps

Also known as a rainfly, tarps are a hammock accessory you may not want to miss. Tarps would not simply protect you from rain, but also the wind and sunlight, and other elements as well. You not only need them during storms or rain but virtually any camping environment and climate. There are several types of hammock tarps that you can choose from. There are asymmetric tarps, diamond tarps, hex tarp, rectangle tarp, and the tent-like, 4-season tarp. Chose the tarps according to your needs and preferences, and of course, the climate you’re camping in.

Mosquito net

Wherever you’re camping bug nets are more than just essential. Aside from bug nets, bring some mosquito repellent as well just in case. Bug nets are one of the most fragile hammock camping accessories simply because of its nature. It is thin and very lightweight, and very prone to tear. Just a small hole on your bug net may get some mosquitos inside your sleeping setup. To prevent this, mosquito repellents usually work fine. Certain oils like cajuput may also work quite effectively.

Underquilt

Hammock underquilts are extremely important to keep you warm while you sleep. You’re going to be suspended on the air. There is no ground or bed that would keep the chilly night air from around your backside. Under quilts provide you insulation to your lightweight and thin hammock gear. It’s one of the must-have items if you’re camping in the colder months. But even during the warmer months, the night could get very cold. It’s a good idea to bring under quilts for its insulating purposes and for extra comfort.

Hammock Carabiners

Carabiners are a hammock suspension system that generally comes along with your hammock. They also make hanging your hammock quicker as they simplify the hanging process. Not much fiddling with tying would be required. Hammock carabiners are often made of aluminum as its main material, with spring or wire as the gate. Bring some extra for various purposes such as attaching your hammock setup to your backpack.

Hammock topquilt

Topquilts for your hammock setup provides extra insulation to help better protect you from the elements, just like an underquilt. Top quilts give you that extra protection, not unlike a blanket. It is a good addition to your setup as they provide more insulation on top of your clothes or coats.

Extra accessories

When it is one of your first-time hammock camping, it’s a good idea to bring some extra hammock camping accessories. As previously mentioned, bringing extra carabiners may prove to be useful as they have various uses. Bringing extra ropes or straps may also prove to be lifesaving when you’re in a pinch. The awesome thing about hammock camping, as opposed to tent camping, is that most of the accessories of hammock camping are very lightweight and portable.

It is really possible since a high blog traffic and years age of blog can be the good influencers for many people in the world. The money you are going to bet can simply by offering the managers or business owners about the post placement idea, ads space, etc.

Hey! Your Instagram’s followers are thousands? That’s crazy!

Travelling is not only about the destinations, attractions, experiences, new people you have never met before, and else, but it is also how safety you are during all that excitements and getting back home while surprising the whole family with happiness, stories and may some of the exotic souvenirs you have bought before.

A safe and comfort travel is always needed by all of us and while you are intending to get a trip alone along the way, a good enough preparation is nothing but you will need the great plan for it since there will only someone helping you which is yourself.

Most of the time, you may have decided for not depending on the others when you are planning about to travel the world alone, right?

How you can travel alone but still safe and comfort

As I have been many times travelling alone for days and even weeks, I may have some important insights you need to know even though I wasn’t arounding the world before.

And as for your information, travelling alone doesn’t have to be experiencing the loneliness. Being a solo traveller should never meant to be lonely along the way. There are ways how you can deal with it.

But since I will informing you how to travel alone in safe and comfort, I think I will try to give you the explanation how not to be lonely in a solo travelling in the other days. Today, let me just simply show you how to experience a travel by yourself is also an interesting thing you have to do.

How to travel alone in safe and comfort to enjoy the life

1. Do intense research and get a lot of information about the destinations you will visit

Information is always the important thing for any travellers. Even though you have been visited a destination a couple of time, you will still need to digging more about the things you may have missed before.

Acknowledge yourself about the destination is vital to preventing the things that can harm yourself or can make your journey less enjoyable.

Doing an intense research can also contribute in helping you to pack the necessary items you have to bring and what’s not, how much money you will need to spend, to know the emergency numbers you might need, and more.

2. If you will visit a quiet destination, how you will keep yourself safe and comfort?

There are many travellers decided to visit the quiet destination in purpose to experience the silence. You may will also do the same thing where heading to the hill or forest is your priority for a peaceful retreat. But keep in mind that you can be the only person over there. So, getting to know about how to survive at the will is also important.

This is also why doing an intense research about the destination is vital where you are going in a solo travel to experience many things, not to put yourself in a threat you may get.

Dealing with survival stuff means you need to bring a survival gears. You will also need to plan about where you are going to sleep in safe and comfort since you can’t hold your eyes for a day and a night long. Many are suggested to bring the custom hammocks since that will be a good item to make your sleep more safer and comfortable in the same time.

You will need also some things just like a knife and other first aid kit tools to anticipate things.

3. The route; You have to remember which paths you have taken before!

It is about escaping from something you need to away with. I’d never hope that your solo travelling will be in danger, but we never know what what are coming to us at the destination on above 2nd point.

Therefore, you may will need to runaway but you have to keep in mind that you are really mastery the field or area. Running away as if your bottom getting burned is not something you have to deal with. So, while you have to know more about the destination, bringing compass can also be useful or a printed map that can help you locate yourself in the wild.

So does about the roads and route you have taken before, even though there won’t be any threats you have to face, it is better to remember all the previous paths to make you easier to go home.

4. Make sure you know where the first point your internet provider is not available and so does your mobile’s signal

You may have never heard this tip before, but let me tell you why it is important. Your main tool for communication can be your mobile phone. If you will need a help, how you can reach everyone else including the emergency numbers you have saved before?

So that, your last point where the internet signal is down can be your last destination and no need to walk any further. See if you can enjoy yourself over the coordinate, it may has the great view for your travel alone idea and self-retreat.

You can also at least will know about where the point will be possible to connect to the others through your phone especially when you have remembered the paths you have taken as I am recommended before.

Start enjoying your getaway as much as possible!

There are other ways than the above 4 ways to travel alone in safe and comfort way. But if the ways have been prepared very well, I think you are good to go to the chosen destination and start enjoying your lonely retreat as much as possible. What else to be worried for?

Starting Solo Travel in Asia: Which Country to Pick?

Which country you should go to? This is especially important especially when safety is your top consideration when solo traveling. Here are some of our top picks to serve as references to get an idea which country is the safest when it comes to solo traveling.

Country for solo travel in Asia

Taiwan

Taiwan has a low crime rate among developing nations. The crime rate is notably low in Taiwan.

Just like in Japan, you don’t have to worry about signs. They have everything with an English translation. It’s also easy to navigate your way around. A lot of restaurants have pictures of the food. It won’t be a hassle figuring things out here.

Public transportation is also very reliable. You don’t have to dig into your pocket to get a taxi. And for much of the time, you don’t have to worry about transportation. While I’d recommend Japan to anyone on their very first solo trip to Asia, Taiwan is a solid choice in itself.

Singapore

Arguably the most advanced developing country in Southeast Asia, Singapore is definitely one of the places you should visit when you’re traveling to the region. Singapore is home to an array of culture from Chinese, Malay, to Indian. As such, you’ll be spoilt for choice for these types of cuisines.

Japan

Japan is definitely one of the countries that always make it into the top list of the safest countries in the world. A country with one of the most comprehensive (albeit sometimes confusing) public transpiration in the world, it’s extremely easy to get around. It is by far, the most wonderful country to do solo traveling in, especially if you enjoy Japanese culture.

From fashion and the dizzying buzz of people in Tokyo—down to the many little Shinto temples in the peaceful countryside—Japan has it all. It certainly can be very isolating to go solo in Japan. So plan a meeting ahead in advance through travelers’ website such as Couchsurfing or join relevant facebook groups. It’s also helpful sometimes to stay at a hostel if you want more chance to talk to fellow travelers during your solo journey.

South Korea

South Korea is one of the places in Asia where media-influenced tourism is at its peaks. And it seemed that it will continue to be. But regardless of your reasons to visit South Korea, it is one of the best places to be when safety is of utmost importance.

Both the metropolis and the suburbs of South Korea are all easy to enjoy by travelers. Public transportation is generally available even to the more remote places. The people generally mind their own businesses, so standing out from being a Caucasian is generally not a problem here. Overall, the crime rate in South Korea is very low. You’ll be at ease in this country knowing that most people solo traveling have had great experiences in this country.

Bhutan

Largely unheard of, the Kingdom of Bhutan was an isolated nation not very long ago. Before the monarchs seek to become a member of the United Nation, next to no one know of its existence. Bhutan is an isolated country in almost every sense of the word. So why does this option a good one? The crime rate in Bhutan is very low compared to most developing countries. And to enter this country in the first place, you have to be accompanied by a licensed local tour guide throughout your trip. And people have been saying nothing but wonderful things about these local guides. If you have the budget and the grit to go solo to Bhutan, then go for it!
